The Journey of Story Float
Runtime: 5m 30s
Submitted by Szuhsin Lee
In this film, we designed an Ei-Ga (the story float), and used the roles of a traditional story: Journey to the West to depict a river filled with human-made garbage and that therefore the Ei-Ga were unable to move forward. In the end, with the cooperation of all the people, we cleaned up the garbage at the bottom of the stream, so that the celebration parade could continue. With this show, the people in the town learnt and understood that they should not litter or pollute the environment, and they should lead a clean and tidy life.

THE 504 SIT-IN
Runtime: 10m
Submitted by Thomas Huang
Our documentary focuses on the 504 Sit-in, a groundbreaking event that had an instrumental role in spearheading the disability rights movement. The sit-in led to the signing of the 504 regulations and increased disability accommodations, creating a massive ideological shift in society that paved the way for future legislation that would help millions. Our documentary highlighted the three primary ways that the 504 Sit-in exhibited communication: the non-violent protests allowed the disabled to express their frustrations, national media attention changed public perception, and political pressure gave them a voice in the government. The communication was key for the nation in understanding the struggles that the disabled faced.

WHAT WE CHOOSE TO REMEMBER
Runtime: 7m 49s
Submitted by Sarah North
We all cling to idealized versions of the past. Whether it's intentional or not, our brains have a knack for editing our past experiences so that they are more palatable to our sensibilities than the hard truth actually is. The history behind my family's emigration from Latvia during World War II is astonishing. When I learned about the true nature of my ancestors' flight from their homeland, I wanted to make sure it was not a story forgotten to time. My Grandma Skai chose to forget her past. I'm choosing to remember it.
Dear GRANDMA AND GRANDPA:
A QUARANTINE STORY
Runtime: 3m 46s
Submitted by Sophia Featherstone
My Grandparents have dementia and they have been quarantined separately during the coronavirus crisis. In their 80s, they are both incredibly vulnerable to COVID-19, so these measures are maintained to keep them safe, but because of their memories', it is hard for them to understand why they can't see anyone--and why they can't see each other. Not only this, but communicating with them is increasingly difficult. With a greater reliance on technology as a means of connection, it is almost as though they are both being left behind.
